WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging app, is reportedly developing a paid subscription plan called WhatsApp Plus.
This plan aims to give users extra features and more control over the app, while the regular WhatsApp will remain free for everyone.
The new plan is still in development and could be available for both Android and iOS users in the future, according to reports by WaBetaInfo on ‘X’.
More Customization Options
One of the main perks of WhatsApp Plus could be better customization.
Subscribers may be able to:
Change themes, colors, and overall app appearance
Choose from around 14 different app icons for their home screen
These options will allow users to personalize the app more freely, something that is currently limited in the free version.
Extra Features for Chat Management
WhatsApp Plus may also let users pin more chats at the top of their chat list.
Right now, only three chats can be pinned, but the paid plan could allow up to 20 chats, making it easier to keep track of family, work, or close friends.
Other possible features include exclusive ringtones, sticker packs, and message reactions, adding a fun and unique touch to conversations.
Free WhatsApp Features Will Stay
Even after WhatsApp Plus launches, the core features of WhatsApp will remain free.
Users can still send messages, make voice and video calls, share photos and videos, and use group chats without paying.
Currently, WhatsApp has not revealed the price or launch date of the subscription plan.
Since it is still in development, features and details may change before the official release.
