WhatsApp Introduces a New Storage Management Feature

WhatsApp keeps launching new features to improve the chatting experience for its users. The company has now introduced an important feature designed to help manage phone storage.

The latest update has appeared in WhatsApp Beta for iOS 25.31.10.70 on the TestFlight app.

Manage Storage Directly from Chat Info Screen

This new feature lets users manage their storage straight from the chat info screen.

It allows them to view, sort, and delete large files shared in chats, helping them free up space more easily.

WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot showing how this feature looks.

After installing the latest TestFlight update, some beta testers can now see a new entry point in the chat info section to manage storage.

This works just like the Manage Storage option found in app settings, but it is easier to access.

The new shortcut lets users quickly review and remove large media files, saving time and keeping chats organized without going through multiple menus.

Sorting Options and Upcoming Stable Update

In this new section, users can view a full grid of all media shared in a chat — including photos, videos, and documents, organized by file size.

They can also switch between sorting options such as Newest, Oldest, and Largest, making it simple to identify which files are taking up the most memory.

Currently, WhatsApp is releasing this feature only in the beta version.

Once the beta testing is completed successfully, the feature will be rolled out in the stable version for all users.
