New Features on WhatsApp and Messenger

On WhatsApp, users will now see an alert if they share their screen with an unknown caller during a video call.

This is particularly useful in situations like fake digital arrests, where scammers try to trick people over video calls.

For Messenger, Meta is developing an AI-powered scam detection tool. Users can submit chats with new contacts for AI review.

The company also recommends using Security Checkup on Facebook and Instagram and Privacy Checkup on WhatsApp to strengthen account safety.

Government Collaboration for Senior Citizens

Meta will collaborate with the Department of Telecommunications to run the “Scam Se Bachao” campaign, which educates senior citizens on spotting and avoiding scams through videos.

Additionally, Meta will support the Saksham Senior campaign, which provides digital literacy and safety sessions for older users.
