The weather is changing in many states across the country. Recent snowfall in the mountains has caused a drop in minimum temperatures in several areas.
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon will start retreating in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh,
and Maharashtra within the next day or two. However, rain is expected to continue in many states of Northeast and South India.
Skymet Weather reports that a low-pressure area formed from the remnants of Cyclone Shakti is located over the west-central Arabian Sea.
Additionally, cyclonic circulations are present in the southeast Arabian Sea near the north Kerala coast. These weather patterns are likely to bring more rain to several states.
Rainfall Across the Country in the Last 24 Hours
During the past 24 hours, Skymet Weather recorded light to moderate rainfall with heavy showers in some areas of Tamil Nadu
and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Other regions that experienced light to moderate rainfall include:

Light rainfall was also recorded in Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Central Maharashtra, and Himachal Pradesh.
Minimum temperatures fell below 20°C in most parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, North Central Maharashtra, and East Rajasthan.
Cold Weather in Delhi
On Friday, Delhi recorded temperatures below 20°C for the first time in the 2025-26 winter season, signaling the start of the cold season.
The national capital experienced a slight chill, with the minimum temperature dropping to 18.8°C.

The International Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts clear skies for Saturday, with temperatures ranging from 19°C (minimum) to 31°C (maximum).
Heavy Rain in Kolkata
Heavy rain affected Kolkata and nearby districts on Friday, causing waterlogging in several areas. The India Meteorological Department recorded:
69 mm of rain in Kolkata over 9 hours from 8:30 am
27 mm of rain in nearby Salt Lake
Over the next 3-4 days, light rain is expected at one or two places in the state.
By Saturday morning, South Bengal, including Kolkata, may experience strong winds (30–40 kmph) and thundershowers. From next week, dry weather is expected across West Bengal.
