Millions of vehicles are used on Indian roads every day, consuming large amounts of petrol and contributing to pollution.
To address these issues, India has now taken a major step toward cleaner and more affordable transportation.
Maruti Suzuki has officially unveiled the country’s first Flex Fuel car, a vehicle that can run primarily on ethanol instead of petrol.
Union Ministers Launch the New Vehicle
The new Flex Fuel car was unveiled by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri was also present during the launch event.
The introduction of this technology is expected to help reduce dependence on expensive petrol and lower vehicle emissions in the future.
What Makes This Car Special?
Maruti Suzuki has introduced Flex Fuel technology in the Wagon R. The biggest advantage of this technology is that the car can run on ethanol-based fuel instead of regular petrol.
According to the company, the vehicle can operate on fuel containing 85% to 100% ethanol. This significantly reduces the need for petrol and could help cut pollution levels.
Flex Fuel Motorcycles Also Launched
The move comes shortly after the launch of India’s first Flex Fuel motorcycles. Hero MotoCorp recently introduced the Hero Splendor+ and Hero HF Deluxe Flex Fuel models.
With both cars and motorcycles now adopting Flex Fuel technology, India is taking another step toward cleaner and more sustainable mobility.
