Volkswagen India has updated the prices of its cars in the Indian market. The price changes apply only to the Volkswagen Virtus and Volkswagen Taigun.
The prices of the company’s more expensive models, such as the Golf GTI, remain unchanged. The second batch of these performance hatchbacks has already been sold out.
Updated Prices of Volkswagen Taigun
After the revision, the base Comfortline variant of the Volkswagen Taigun is now priced at ₹10.58 lakh, which is about ₹84,000 cheaper than before.
However, all other Taigun variants have seen a price increase of around ₹4,000.
With these changes, the Taigun’s price now ranges from ₹10.58 lakh to ₹19.19 lakh. In the Indian market, it competes with popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
Volkswagen Virtus Price Changes Explained
The entry-level Virtus Comfortline has received a price cut of ₹66,000 and now costs ₹10.50 lakh. However, most other variants of the Virtus have become more expensive.
The Highline AT (lower-spec) and GT Line MT (mid-spec) variants have seen a price hike of ₹51,000.
Meanwhile, the Highline Plus MT and Highline Plus AT variants have received price increases of ₹46,000 and ₹45,000, respectively.
The Topline AT variant has become costlier by only ₹2,000. The Virtus variant with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine
and manual transmission has seen a ₹10,000 price increase, while the dual-clutch automatic variant has become more expensive by up to ₹30,000.
After these updates, the Volkswagen Virtus is priced between ₹10.50 lakh and ₹19 lakh. It competes with sedans like the Skoda Slavia and Honda City.
Discounts Still Available at Dealerships
Despite the price changes, some Volkswagen dealerships are offering discounts on MY25 models of both the Taigun and Virtus.
These offers include exchange bonuses, corporate discounts, cash benefits, and scrappage incentives.
However, the availability of these discounts may vary depending on the city, dealership, and stock availability.
