Volkswagen India has officially removed the Tiguan from its website ahead of the launch of the new-generation Tiguan R-Line.
The previous model was available only in the Elegance variant, priced at ₹38.17 lakh (ex-showroom).
Now, the company’s website only displays the upcoming Tiguan R-Line, which means the old model is no longer available for purchase.
This also suggests that Volkswagen may have sold out its remaining stock of the previous Tiguan.
Engine and Performance
The previous Tiguan was powered by a 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine, paired with a seven-speed DSG gearbox. It delivered 187 bhp and 320 Nm of torque.
The new Tiguan R-Line will have a similar 2.0-liter engine but with an increased power output of 201 bhp while maintaining the same 320 Nm of torque.
It will also come with a seven-speed DCT gearbox and a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system for better handling. The expected price of the Tiguan R-Line is between ₹50 to ₹55 lakh.
Tiguan R-Line Features and Booking
The new Tiguan R-Line stands out with its bold and sporty design. It measures 4,539mm in length, 1,859mm in width, 1,656mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,680mm.
It comes packed with features like a sporty R-inspired design, advanced safety systems, a premium interior, modern technology, and a powerful AWD system for an enhanced driving experience.
Volkswagen has already started taking bookings for the Tiguan R-Line. Interested buyers can pre-book the SUV at any Volkswagen dealership or through the official website.
According to Ashish Gupta, Volkswagen India’s Brand Director, the Tiguan R-Line will be an excellent choice for Indian customers, offering outstanding performance, spacious interiors, and top-notch safety features.
