Mobile users have received disappointing news from telecom company Vodafone-Idea (Vi).
According to a report by Telecom Talk, the company has increased the price of its ₹1,999 prepaid plan to ₹2,249.
The plan still comes with 365 days of validity, just like before, but users will now have to pay ₹250 more for it. Let’s take a look at what has changed in the plan after the price hike.
Earlier Benefits in the ₹1,999 Plan
Earlier, Vodafone-Idea’s ₹1,999 plan offered the following benefits:
Unlimited voice calling
3,600 free SMS
24GB or 36GB of data, depending on the telecom circle
Once the data limit was used up, users were charged 50 paise per MB for extra data. The plan’s effective daily cost used to be around ₹5.40.
Updated Benefits in the ₹2,249 Plan
After the price hike, the ₹2,249 plan still offers unlimited calling and 3,600 free SMS. However, there’s a small improvement in data benefits:
Users now get 30GB (6GB extra) or 40GB (4GB extra) of data, depending on their circle
The data usage charge after the limit remains 50 paise per MB
The validity remains 365 days, same as before
With the new price, the effective daily cost has increased to about ₹6.16 per day.

As per reports, Vodafone-Idea is now offering:
30GB data in: Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Chennai, Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana, Kolkata, Maharashtra, Goa, Mumbai, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, UP East, UP West, and West Bengal.
40GB data in: Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, North East, and Odisha.
