Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off the country’s first Vande Bharat Metro on September 16.
This new service will run between Bhuj and Ahmedabad in Gujarat, completing the journey in just 5 hours and 45 minutes.
With stops at 9 stations, the train will operate six days a week, offering passengers an efficient travel option.
The Vande Bharat Metro is manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The minimum fare for this metro service is set at ₹30, including GST, making it an affordable option for travelers.
Additionally, passengers can purchase season tickets, with weekly, fortnightly, and monthly plans priced at ₹7, ₹15, and ₹20 per single journey, respectively.
The train, consisting of 12 coaches, can accommodate up to 1,150 passengers, ensuring both comfort and capacity.
Modern Facilities for a Comfortable Journey
The Vande Bharat Metro comes equipped with a range of advanced features designed to enhance passenger comfort and safety.
It is fully air-conditioned and boasts double-leaf automatic sliding doors, a flexible, sealed gangway for a dust-free environment, and ejector-based vacuum toilets, a significant improvement over traditional train toilets.
For a smooth and jerk-free ride, the train features semi-permanent couplers. Passenger safety is further enhanced with the Kavach train collision avoidance system, CCTV surveillance, and emergency lighting in every coach.
Mobile charging sockets, available in both Type-C and Type-A outlets, and a talk-back system allow passengers to communicate with the driver in case of an emergency.
