USCIS said the revised fees apply to certain immigration benefits covered under H.R. 1.
The increase is based on inflation recorded between July 2024 and July 2025.
These changes were officially announced through a Federal Register notice.
From January 1, 2026, applicants must pay the updated fees wherever applicable.
The agency also confirmed that such inflation-based revisions will now happen every year, as required by law.
Immigration Fees That Will Increase
Here are the fees that will see a small increase from January 1, 2026:
Annual Asylum Application Fee: $100 → $102
Form I-765 (Initial Asylum Applicant EAD): $550 → $560
Form I-765 (Initial Parole EAD): $550 → $560
Form I-765 (Renewal/Extension of Parole EAD): $275 → $280
Form I-765 (Initial TPS EAD): $550 → $560

Form I-131, Part 9 (Re-parole EAD): $275 → $280
Form I-821 (Temporary Protected Status): $500 → $510
Even though the increase is small, submitting the correct amount is mandatory.
Fees That Will Remain the Same
USCIS has clarified that some important fees will not change:
Initial asylum application (Form I-589) will remain at $100
Renewal or extension of asylum EAD (Form I-765) will stay at $275
Form I-360 (Special Immigrant Juvenile status) will remain $250
Important Reminder for Applicants
USCIS has warned that any application postmarked on or after January 1, 2026, with incorrect fees will be rejected
Applicants are advised to double-check fee amounts before submitting their forms.
The agency also noted that a separate announcement will be made later regarding any inflation-based changes to immigration parole fees.
Staying updated on these changes can help avoid delays, rejections, and unnecessary expenses during the immigration process.
