The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has released updated H-2B visa processing data as of February 5, 2026.
The update shows how many cases have received final decisions and how many worker positions have been certified under the FY 2026 visa caps.
The data covers both the first half and second half of the H-2B visa cap for the current fiscal year.
First-Half Visa Cap: Strong Approval Numbers
For the first half of FY 2026, the DOL reported that 6,220 cases had received final decisions as of February 5.
These approvals covered 116,113 certified worker positions.
The applications were filed for jobs with a start date between October 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026.
Second-Half Visa Cap: Early Decisions Underway
For the second half of the FY 2026 cap, the DOL reported 587 cases with final decisions so far.
These cases resulted in 8,907 certified worker positions.
All of these applications were submitted during the peak filing period for jobs starting after April 1, 2026.

Regular updates are posted on Mondays or the next business day
Additional updates may be released on Wednesdays and Fridays
All data reflects the close of business (COB) from the previous reporting day.
64,716 Additional H-2B Visas Approved
On January 30, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Labor (DOL) jointly announced a temporary increase in the H-2B visa cap.
Under this rule, up to 64,716 additional H-2B visas will be made available for FY 2026, offering relief to U.S. employers facing labor shortages.
What Is the H-2B Visa Program?
The H-2B visa program allows U.S. employers to hire foreign workers for temporary non-agricultural jobs. Workers can stay in the U.S. for up to three years.
After completing the maximum stay, workers must leave the U.S. for at least three months before they can apply again.
