US announces 3 New Rules for H-1B Visa Holders

The H-1B visa has long been one of the most popular employment visas in the United States, especially among Indian professionals.

One major advantage of the H-1B program is that it creates a pathway to a US green card, allowing individuals to live permanently in the country.

However, under President Donald Trump’s administration, several new regulations related to H-1B visas and green cards have been introduced, creating challenges for many Indians working in the US.

In this situation, Kristi Noem, the head of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), has announced three important rules that H-1B visa holders must follow.

In an interview with Fox News, she also confirmed that the US will continue issuing H-1B visas under the Trump administration.

She explained that authorities are now verifying individuals more carefully to ensure they are coming to the US for the right reasons and are not connected to terrorist groups or organizations that oppose America.

The Three Rules Every H-1B Holder Must Follow

Kristi Noem highlighted that the following criteria are mandatory for all H-1B visa holders and those entering the country:

They must not support any terrorist organization.

They must come to the United States with good intentions.

They must not support any group or organization that hates America.

Noem also criticized former President Joe Biden’s administration, claiming it allowed thousands of terrorists into the country and enabled them to misuse the immigration system.

These new rules come at a time when President Trump himself publicly acknowledged that America needs skilled workers and that the H-1B visa program is necessary to fill this talent gap.

Despite Trump’s statement, several of his supporters have launched a campaign opposing the president’s stance.
