India Impact Summit 2026 begins today, February 16, bringing together top tech companies and global delegates.

On this occasion, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has launched a new digital payment solution called UPI One World.

This special wallet is designed for international visitors, allowing them to make seamless digital payments during their stay in India.

What Is UPI One World?

UPI One World is a prepaid digital wallet created for foreign travelers visiting India.

With this wallet, users can scan UPI QR codes and make real-time payments to merchants — just like Indian users do.

The biggest advantage? Visitors do not need:

An Indian mobile number

A local bank account

The service is currently available to delegates from more than 40 countries and has been launched as a pilot initiative.

Where and How Can You Access It?

Foreign delegates attending the summit can access the wallet through authorized prepaid payment providers.

The facility is available at:

New Delhi International Airport

The NPCI Pavilion inside Bharat Mandapam

This makes it convenient for visitors to activate the service as soon as they arrive.

Step-by-Step: How to Use the Wallet

Getting started is simple:

Download the CheqUPI app by Transcorp.

Complete the registration process.

Submit passport and visa details.

Verify identity by uploading a selfie and setting a UPI PIN.

Once approved, you will receive a unique UPI ID.

Load money using an international debit or credit card.

The transaction limit is ₹25,000 per payment.

Users can load money twice a month, with a maximum monthly limit of ₹50,000.

If any balance remains unused, it can be refunded back to the original payment source as per foreign exchange rules.

Why This Initiative Matters

NPCI introduced UPI One World to make India’s digital payment system accessible to foreign visitors.

Many international travelers face difficulty using local payment methods.

This wallet removes that barrier by enabling them to pay easily using UPI QR codes across the country.

While the service is available to users from over 40 countries, some countries are currently not eligible.

NPCI has stated that exclusions are based on official regulations.

With UPI One World, India is taking another step toward making its digital economy more globally connected and visitor-friendly.
