Good news for travelers visiting New Delhi Railway Station with their own vehicles! Driving to the Ajmeri Gate side of the station will now be much easier.

Passengers and their families have often faced traffic jams and high parking fees during pick-up and drop-off.

To solve this problem, the Railways is introducing a new parking system starting Thursday. This system doubles the parking area and reduces pick-up and drop-off fees significantly.

New Premium Parking Lots

Railway officials have announced the creation of two new premium parking lots to reduce vehicle congestion near Ajmeri Gate.

When entering the parking area, drivers can choose between regular parking and premium parking. Pick-up and drop-off services will continue as before but will now be more affordable and organized.

Updated Parking Rates

Under the new rules:

Up to 8 minutes: Free

8–15 minutes: ₹50

15–30 minutes: ₹150

More than 30 minutes: ₹200

Previously, the charges were ₹200 for 15–30 minutes and ₹500 for longer stays. This shows a major reduction in fees.

Measures Against Traffic Jams

To reduce traffic congestion, the Railways has introduced strict rules. Any vehicle blocking the pick-up and drop-off lane or causing jams will result in a fine for the parking contractor. This ensures that traffic flows smoothly without interruptions.

Three Types of Parking

The new system provides three parking options near Ajmeri Gate:

General Parking – For bicycles, two-wheelers, and cars.

Bicycle: ₹3 for 2 hours

Two-wheeler: ₹20

Car: ₹50

Premium Parking – For cars with extra benefits.

₹150 for the first 2 hours

₹100 for every additional hour

Commercial Vehicle Parking – For auto-rickshaws, taxis, tempos, and buses.

Different rates have been fixed for each type
