This news is crucial for those who ignore traffic rules in Uttar Pradesh. If you’re not aware of the new enforcement, you might face serious trouble.
The police have introduced strict measures during Traffic Month — repeated traffic rule violations can now lead to cancellation of your driving license and vehicle registration.
When Will Driving Licenses Be Cancelled?
During Traffic Month, the police announced that if any vehicle receives more than five challans, its registration may be cancelled and the driver’s license may be revoked.
The campaign was launched at the police lines in Lucknow. Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) Bablu Kumar said that strict action will be taken to ensure everyone follows traffic rules.
Although these rules already exist, they will now be strictly enforced to promote awareness and reduce violations.
Efforts to Prevent Road Accidents
Along with issuing challans, the police will also run a campaign to prevent road accidents. All trauma centers will be connected under this drive.
If someone helps an injured accident victim reach the hospital and saves their life, they will receive a ₹25,000 reward and will not be questioned by the authorities.
Awareness Campaigns in Schools and Offices
During this month, awareness programs about traffic safety will be held in schools and offices across Lucknow.
People will be encouraged to wear helmets and seat belts, and truck drivers will also be educated about safe driving practices.
Many accidents occur because of negligence, so the goal is to make everyone more responsible on the road.
