The hike will take effect from July 1, 2025, bringing cheer to around 28 lakh government employees and pensioners across the state.

The move aims to help them cope with rising inflation and living costs while adding to their festive joy.

Central Government Employees Also Get DA Boost

Earlier this month, the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also approved a 3% DA and DR hike for central government employees and pensioners.

The revised rate, effective from July 1, 2025, takes their DA to 58% of the basic pay or pension.

According to official estimates, this hike will cost the exchequer around Rs. 10,083.96 crore annually, benefiting nearly 49.19 lakh employees and 68.72 lakh pensioners.

The revision follows the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission and aims to offset the impact of rising prices.

Double Celebration for Government Staff

With both state and central governments announcing similar increases, this Diwali brings double the joy for government employees and pensioners across the country.

The hike is expected to put more money in their pockets just in time for the festive season, providing a much-needed boost to household budgets.
