UIDAI, the authority behind Aadhaar, has introduced a new digital mascot called Udai to make Aadhaar-related services simpler and more accessible for everyone.

Designed as a chatbot-like digital character, Udai aims to help users quickly resolve their Aadhaar queries without confusion or delays.

With this initiative, UIDAI wants to reduce the struggle people often face while searching for basic Aadhaar information and services.

What Is Udai and How Will It Help You?

Udai has been created especially for the general public.

It provides clear and easy information about common Aadhaar services such as updates, corrections, downloads, and more.

Instead of visiting Aadhaar offices or browsing multiple websites, users can now get quick answers through Udai.

This makes everyday Aadhaar-related tasks faster and less stressful, especially for first-time users.

How UIDAI Selected the Udai Mascot

The mascot was chosen through a nationwide design and naming competition conducted by UIDAI.

Around 875 participants, including students and professional designers from across India, took part in the contest.

According to UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar, both the mascot’s design and its name were finalized based on public participation.

Arun Gokul from Thrissur, Kerala, won first prize for the design.

Idris Dawawala from Pune and Krishna Sharma from Uttar Pradesh secured second and third places.

The name “Udai” was suggested by Riya Jain from Bhopal.

Aadhaar App Makes Services Even Easier

Before launching Udai, UIDAI had already introduced the Aadhaar mobile app in November 2025.

The app is available on both Android and iPhone and allows users to carry a digital version of their Aadhaar card on their phone.

The app works along with mAadhaar and lets users securely share their Aadhaar details when required.

Key Features of the Aadhaar Mobile App

The Aadhaar app comes with several helpful features.

Users can store Aadhaar details of family members, provided their mobile numbers are linked to Aadhaar.

For added security, the app supports fingerprint and face lock.

It also allows users to share Aadhaar information easily using a QR code, making verification quick and safe.

With tools like Udai and the Aadhaar app, UIDAI is clearly moving towards making Aadhaar services more user-friendly and digital-first.
