Indian travelers can now benefit from an expanded visa-on-arrival policy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This change allows Indian citizens with valid green cards or residence permits from six new countries to enter the UAE without needing a pre-arranged visa.
The new rule, effective from February 13, 2025, offers increased travel opportunities for Indian passport holders.
Eligible Countries for Visa-on-Arrival
The updated UAE visa-on-arrival rules apply to Indian nationals who hold valid visas, residence permits, or green cards from the following countries:
Singapore
Japan
South Korea
Australia
New Zealand
Canada
Before this change, the policy was already available for Indian citizens with valid documents from the United States, the United Kingdom, and European Union countries.
Requirements for Indian Travelers
To be eligible for the visa-on-arrival program, Indian citizens must meet the UAE’s requirements, which include:
1) A valid passport with at least six months of validity
2) A valid visa, residence permit, or green card from one of the eligible countries
Visa Categories and Fees
The UAE has introduced three types of visas with different fees for Indian travelers:
1) A 4-day visa costing AED 100
2) A 14-day visa extension for AED 250
3) A 60-day visa for AED 250
This initiative aims to make travel easier and offer more opportunities for Indians to visit, live, or work in the UAE.
Types of Tourist Visas for UAE
If you’re planning to visit Dubai, there are various tourist visa options available based on your eligibility:
Single-entry tourist visa: Valid for 30 or 60 days
Multiple-entry tourist visa: Valid for 30 or 60 days
Multiple-entry long-term tourist visa: Valid for 5 years
