Indian Railways, known for its convenience and affordability for long-distance travel, has introduced a new rule to enhance passenger experience.
This innovative rule addresses situations where passengers miss their trains due to various reasons and provides a solution for seamless travel.
Continuing Your Journey After Missing the Train:
In instances where passengers miss their train, Indian Railways offers a solution that allows them to catch the same train within the next two stops.
This means that passengers can still complete their journey on the same ticket, avoiding the need to purchase a new one.
Whether for sightseeing or unexpected changes in plans, this rule provides flexibility to passengers while ensuring their convenience.
Process to Resume Travel: To resume their journey, passengers need to communicate with the Ticket Collector (TC) on board.
The TC will then arrange the necessary arrangements, including issuing a new ticket if required.
During this period, the passenger might need to change their coach, but their seat or berth remains reserved.
Route Break Journey Rule: In addition to the innovative rule for continuing journeys after missing a train, Indian Railways also offers the Route Break Journey Rule.
This rule is particularly beneficial for long-distance journeys exceeding 500 km. Passengers can take a break in their journey for up to two days, excluding the boarding and disembarking dates.
However, it’s important to note that this rule doesn’t apply to luxury trains like Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi, and Rajdhani.
