The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) made several changes to the H-1B visa program during the Trump administration.
This visa lets U.S. employers hire foreign professionals with specialized skills. Indian companies have continued to benefit significantly, securing a major portion of these visas.
According to USCIS data, Indian companies received 20% of all H-1B visas in 2024.
Out of 130,000 visas granted between April and September, 24,766 were given to companies of Indian origin.

Understanding ‘Approved Beneficiary’
On the USCIS portal, the term “Approved Beneficiary” refers to the number of individuals authorized to work in the U.S. under the H-1B program.
This can include both new hires and those continuing in their positions through extensions or modifications.
However, the data does not confirm if these beneficiaries actually started working in the U.S., and it may include multiple petitions for the same individual.
