Due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the stock market came under heavy pressure on the last trading day of the week. Both Sensex and Nifty ended with losses.
The Sensex dropped by 880 points, and the Nifty closed 266 points lower. However, the midcap and smallcap indices recovered from their lows and managed to close in the green.
Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 39 declined. Among 30 Sensex stocks, 25 ended lower. And out of 12 Nifty Bank stocks, 6 closed in the red.
