Most Secure Mobile Device: Apple is known for building extremely secure devices, especially the iPhone, which is often called the most secure smartphone in the world.
Now, Apple is inviting tech experts and ethical hackers to try and break its security. And if you succeed, you could earn a massive reward—up to Rs 16 crore!
To support this challenge, Apple launched the Apple Security Bounty Program in 2022.
The goal is to make Apple products safer by encouraging skilled individuals to find flaws—legally and responsibly. This isn’t just about the money; it’s about testing your skills against one of the toughest security systems ever created.
What Is the Apple Security Bounty Program?
This program pays rewards for finding different kinds of security issues. The amount depends on how serious and complex the bug is.
Up to $250,000 (around Rs 2.09 crore): For attacks using physical access to the device
Up to $150,000 (around Rs 1.25 crore): For finding flaws through a user-installed app
Up to $250,000 (about Rs 2.09 crore): For network attacks that require some user action
What’s the Highest Reward?
The biggest rewards go to those who can carry out the most difficult hacks:
Up to $1 million (about Rs 8.36 crore): For a zero-click attack, which means a network attack that requires no action from the user
Up to $1 million: For remote attacks on user data stored in Apple’s private cloud
Up to $2 million (around Rs 16.7 crore): For breaching Lockdown Mode, a special high-security feature designed for people under serious cyber threats
Rules and Eligibility
To be eligible for a reward, participants must follow strict guidelines:
No harm: You cannot disrupt Apple’s services or access data that isn’t yours
Responsible disclosure: Any bug found must be reported directly to Apple, not shared publicly
Stay silent until fix: You must keep the issue confidential until Apple confirms it’s fixed and publishes an official security update
This challenge is for ethical hackers, researchers, and cybersecurity pros who want to test their limits and help improve Apple’s devices.
If you think you’ve got the skills, the rewards—and the challenge—are real.
