Tesla, the electric vehicle giant, has started accepting online orders for its Model Y SUV in India, marking a major step in its entry into the country.
Showroom and Delivery Locations
Tesla has opened its first showroom in Mumbai. Initial deliveries and registrations will happen in Delhi, Mumbai, and Gurugram, with priority deliveries also planned for Mumbai, Gurugram, and Pune.

Challenges in the Indian Market
Tesla sees great potential in India, the world’s third-largest car market. However, high import duties have pushed prices up, which could limit sales.

Import Details and Future Plans
The Model Y is imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) from Tesla’s factory in Shanghai, China. Tesla plans to open a second showroom in Delhi by the end of this month.
