An IndiGo flight headed from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport to Imphal had to return shortly after takeoff due to a technical snag.
Just 10 minutes into the journey, chaos unfolded inside the aircraft as the pilot made an emergency announcement while the plane was flying over Jewar, Uttar Pradesh.
Flight Details and Incident Timeline
The incident occurred on June 17, 2025. IndiGo’s Flight 6E5118 was scheduled to take off at 10:25 AM but departed nearly nine minutes late.

They promptly contacted Delhi Air Traffic Control and turned the flight back to IGI Airport. The cabin crew informed passengers about the situation, leading to panic and prayers for a safe landing.
Safe Landing and Passenger Relief
Following standard emergency procedures, the aircraft safely landed back at Delhi Airport. Though no injuries were reported, the incident caused significant anxiety among passengers.
Their tense journey from Jewar to Delhi ended with a collective sigh of relief once the plane touched down.
