India’s largest IT company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has shared some big relief for employees. The company says layoffs are now over and it is returning to its normal salary increment cycle.

This means employees will no longer have to face long delays or uncertainty around hikes. The standard increment cycle, which usually starts from April 1, is now back on track after being delayed last year.

Layoffs End, Stability Returns

In July 2025, TCS had announced a major layoff affecting around 2% of its global workforce—about 12,000 employees. The company said the move was part of restructuring and adapting to new technologies like AI.

This created concern among employees about job security and salary growth. Now, with layoffs ending, the latest announcement is expected to bring much-needed stability and confidence within the workforce.

Strong Performance Brings Comeback

According to CEO K. Krithivasan, the company’s return to normal is backed by strong financial performance and improving market demand.

TCS reported a profit of ₹13,718 crore in the fourth quarter, showing a 12.2% growth compared to last year. Revenue also rose by 9.6% to ₹70,698 crore.

On top of that, the company secured deals worth $12 billion in recent years, including several large contracts. These factors helped TCS regain its strong position.

How Much Salary Hike Can Employees Expect?

TCS follows a performance-based increment system.

Top performers usually receive double-digit salary hikes. For most employees, the increase typically ranges between 4.5% and 7%, depending on their performance rating and job level.

Controversy at Nashik BPO Unit

At the same time, TCS has been in the news for a serious controversy. Reports have surfaced about alleged sexual harassment and forced conversion attempts at its BPO unit in Nashik, Maharashtra.

Several women employees have made serious allegations of harassment and abuse. Police have registered multiple FIRs and arrested some individuals in connection with the case. Investigations are currently ongoing.
