TCL has officially introduced its new QM9K series, a premium line of QD-mini LED TVs, available in sizes ranging from 65 to 98 inches.
The highlight of this series is support for Google Gemini AI, making it the first Google TV in the US to feature Google Gemini.
TCL has also used a nearly bezelless “ZeroBorder” design to deliver a more immersive viewing experience.
Key Specifications
The QM9K series comes with a 4K Ultra HD panel featuring TCL’s Crystal Glow WHVA technology, which provides wide viewing angles and an anti-reflective coating.
The display supports multiple HDR formats including Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, and IMAX Enhanced content.
The AIPQ Pro processor ensures real-time picture optimization for crisp and vibrant visuals.
The TV features TCL’s updated Halo Control system, which includes a new mini-LED microchip, a condensed micro-lens structure, and a 23-bit backlight controller.
It manages up to 6,000 dimming zones and delivers peak HDR brightness of 6,500 nits, offering better contrast, reduced blooming, and bright specular highlights.
For gaming and motion clarity, the QM9K supports FreeSync Premium Pro, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and includes TCL’s Game Bar for quick adjustments.
It also has Motion Rate 480 and MEMC frame insertion technology to reduce blur during fast-moving scenes.
The audio system is built by Bang & Olufsen and supports Dolby Atmos, including Atmos Flex Connect.
A mmWave-based ambient mode sensor detects the user’s presence and can activate the screensaver or widgets automatically.
Smart Features and Connectivity
The QM9K series comes with Google Gemini, a voice assistant that uses far-field microphones
and object-sensing capabilities to handle complex voice commands and perform AI-based tasks directly on the TV.
It runs on Google TV and supports Chromecast, Apple AirPlay 2, Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. For connectivity, it includes:
Four HDMI 2.1 ports (one with eARC)
Wi-Fi 6
Bluetooth 5.4
Two USB ports
ATSC 3.0 support
The ZeroBorder design enhances the immersive viewing experience by minimizing the screen edges.
