Tata Motors has introduced the eagerly awaited 2023 Nexon and Nexon EV facelift models in India, creating a buzz among car enthusiasts.
The starting price for the 2023 Nexon begins at Rs 8.10 lakh, while the Nexon EV facelift starts at Rs 14.74 lakh, both prices are ex-showroom.
Pre-bookings for both models commenced on September 4, 2023, with a token amount of Rs 21,000.
These refreshed Nexon models boast striking exterior designs, enhanced interiors, and an array of impressive features.
Aesthetic Marvels: The Design Overhaul of 2023 Nexon and Nexon EV
The 2023 Nexon lineup showcases an eye-catching exterior design inspired by the Tata Curve concept. It features redesigned DRLs, headlights, and a revamped front fascia.
The updated front bumper now houses bi-functional LED headlamps, and a fresh wheel design adds to its appeal. At the rear, a new bumper design complements the connected tail lamps.
The latest Nexon EV boasts a comprehensive design overhaul, with both front and rear sections receiving a complete makeover.
While the ICE Nexon and Nexon EV facelift share a similar design to the outgoing generation, the EV version stands out with end-to-end LED DRLs and other distinctive features.
Interior Transformation: Elevating Comfort and Technology
Significant interior enhancements await, including a two-spoke steering wheel, a touch-operated FATC panel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, height-adjustable front seats, ventilated seats, wireless charging, a sunroof, rear AC vents, and advanced connected car technology.
Although the interiors of both models are largely similar, the electric version boasts a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Powering Ahead: Engine and Performance
The Nexon facelift retains the engine options from the previous model, offering a Revotron 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine generating 120PS of power and 170Nm of torque, as well as a Revotorq 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 115PS of power and 260Nm of torque.
Petrol variants now come with a 5-speed MT and 7-speed DCA in addition to the existing 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT options, while the diesel variants continue to offer the 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT choices.
The Tata Nexon EV facelift offers two variants – Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). The MR variant boasts 129 hp power and 215 Nm torque, while the LR variant impresses with 145 hp power and 215 Nm torque.
Tata claims the Nexon EV facelift LR variant can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 8.9 seconds and has a top speed of 150 kmph. Both variants offer three driving modes: Eco, City, and Sport.
The Nexon EV MR features a 30 kWh battery with an ARAI-certified range of 325 km, while the Nexon EV LR uses a larger 40.5 kWh battery providing an ARAI-certified range of up to 465 km.
Safety First: Advanced Features in the 2023 Nexon and Nexon EV
Safety enhancements for the updated Nexon include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, a reverse camera, front parking sensors, ISOFIX seat anchors, 3-point seatbelts for all occupants, electronic stability control, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
