Tata Launching 3 New SUVs Under ₹10 Lakh (Design & Features)

Tata Motors is gearing up with an aggressive plan to expand its presence in India’s fast-growing sub-4 metre SUV market.

The company has lined up three new compact SUVs, two of which will arrive within the next three years. The first in line is the facelifted Tata Punch, set to launch in November.

Tata Punch Facelift: Fresh Design and More Features

The updated Punch will take inspiration from the Punch.ev, sporting redesigned bumpers, tweaked headlamps, and new 16-inch alloy wheels.

The cabin will get major upgrades, including:

A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system (replacing the current 7.0-inch unit)

A larger digital driver display (up from 4.0-inch)

Engine options will remain the same — the familiar 1.2-litre petrol and petrol-CNG with 5-speed manual and AMT.

A key highlight is that the CNG variant will now offer an AMT option, making it more attractive for city buyers.

Next-Gen Tata Nexon (Garud) by 2027

By 2027, Tata will launch the second-generation Nexon, codenamed Garud, based on an updated X1 platform.

Key details:

Expected to continue with the 1.2-litre petrol and petrol-CNG engines

The 1.5-litre diesel may be discontinued due to higher costs under BS7 emission norms

Premium upgrades like a 12.3-inch infotainment system, powered driver’s seat, and Level 2 ADAS safety features

This will position the new Nexon as a more premium compact SUV in the market.

Tata Scarlet: Rugged New SUV by 2028

By 2028, Tata plans to launch a rugged SUV codenamed Scarlet, designed as a younger sibling to the Sierra.

Highlights include:

A boxy, tough design inspired by Mahindra Thar and Maruti Jimny

Built on a monocoque platform for better comfort, efficiency, and dynamics compared to body-on-frame rivals

Expected launch price around ₹9.5 lakh

A pure-electric variant also in the works, which could compete with Kia’s upcoming Syros EVSummary
