Tata Capital Stock Market Debut

Shares of Tata Capital, a subsidiary of Tata Sons, made their debut in the Indian stock market today.

The IPO shares were issued at ₹326, and they opened at ₹329.30 on BSE and ₹330 on NSE, giving investors an initial listing gain of over 1%.

However, the excitement was short-lived.

Shortly after listing, the shares fell to ₹327.25 on NSE, reducing the profit for IPO investors to 0.92%.

Tata Capital IPO Subscription and Proceeds

The ₹15,511.87 crore IPO was open for subscription from October 6-8, 2025.

It was subscribed 1.96 times overall, with different categories showing varied demand:

Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs): 3.42 times

Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs): 1.98 times

Retail Investors: 1.10 times

Employee Portion: 2.92 times

The IPO issued new shares worth ₹6,846 crore.

Additionally, 26.58 crore existing shares were sold through the offer-for-sale window, and the proceeds from these were received by selling shareholders.

The company will use the funds raised through new shares to strengthen its Tier-1 capital, supporting growth and financial stability.
