Online food delivery platform Swiggy has introduced a new service called Bolt, which promises to deliver food in just 10 minutes, similar to its grocery delivery.
Swiggy announced the launch of this quick service on Friday, with the goal of bringing even faster food delivery to consumers.
The company is also preparing for its upcoming Initial Public Offering (IPO), adding to its expansion plans.
Currently, the Bolt service is available in six major cities: Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
Swiggy plans to expand the service to more areas in the coming weeks. Bolt aims to deliver food from restaurants within a two-kilometer radius, ensuring quick and fresh meals.
What’s Included in the Bolt Service?
Bolt will offer a range of items that are easy to prepare and pack, including popular fast-food dishes like burgers, hot and cold beverages, breakfast items, and biryani.
The service will also cater to ready-to-pack options such as ice cream, desserts, and snacks.
Swiggy has clarified that its delivery partners will not be treated differently for Bolt deliveries compared to regular ones, ensuring fair work conditions.
Swiggy’s 10-Year Journey: Faster Than Ever
Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace, stated, “Bolt is the next step in our mission to offer unmatched convenience.
Ten years ago, we changed food delivery by reducing the average wait time to 30 minutes. Now, with Bolt, we are pushing that limit even further.”
