Swiggy, the popular online food delivery platform, has officially launched its new ‘XL’ fleet designed to handle large orders, such as those for weddings or parties.
This comes shortly after the introduction of ‘Bolt,’ a service that promises to deliver food within 10 minutes.
Limited Availability for Now
Currently, the ‘XL’ fleet is available in select cities. Swiggy is also gearing up for its much-anticipated initial public offering (IPO).
The ‘XL’ service, which was in a pilot phase for a few weeks, was formally introduced in Gurugram on the same day as the Haryana assembly elections.
Free Service During Election Day
As part of the official launch, Swiggy’s XL EV fleet delivered 3,500 food boxes free of charge to election officials at over 580 polling stations in Gurugram and Badshahpur constituencies.
This initiative was provided as a complimentary service to the district administration.
Siddharth Bhakoo, National Business Head of Swiggy Food Marketplace, emphasized the role of food delivery services in driving growth in India’s food and beverage (F&B) sector.
He highlighted how these services create new consumption opportunities and expand the customer base.
Swiggy also plans to roll out the ‘XL’ fleet in more cities in the coming weeks.
