To support women financially, the government has introduced the Subhadra Yojana.
This scheme provides Rs 10,000 annually to women, divided into two installments of Rs 5,000 each.
The initiative was officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2024, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
The scheme aims to benefit over 1 crore women in Odisha, making it one of India’s largest women-focused programs.
Key Details of Subhadra Yojana
Annual Financial Assistance
Under the Subhadra Yojana, eligible women will receive a total of Rs 50,000 over five years (2024-2029). This amount will be given in two installments each year:
First Installment: Rs 5,000 on Rakhi Purnima
Second Installment: Rs 5,000 on International Women’s Day (March 8)
Direct Benefit Transfer
The money will be transferred directly to women’s bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Already, more than 10 lakh women have received their funds.
Benefits of Subhadra Yojana
Financial Support
Women will receive Rs 50,000 over five years, which translates to Rs 10,000 each year.
Subhadra Card
Beneficiaries will get a Subhadra Card, functioning like an ATM or debit card, for identification and financial transactions.
Digital Transaction Rewards
To encourage digital transactions, an additional reward of Rs 500 will be given to the top 100 women with the highest number of digital transactions in each Gram Panchayat or urban area.
Eligibility and Application Process
Who Can Apply
1) Residents of Odisha aged between 21 and 60 years.
2) Women already receiving over Rs 1,500 per month from any government scheme are not eligible.
Application Dates
1) The first installment will be available on Rakhi Purnima, August 9, 2025.
2) The second installment will be provided on March 8, 2025.
Where the Scheme Will Be Implemented
The Subhadra Yojana will be rolled out across all 30 districts of Odisha.

Apply through the Subhadra Yojana portal.
Offline
Forms are available at Anganwadi Centres, Block Offices, Mo Seva Kendra, and Common Service Centres. Forms are free and can be submitted at these locations.
