The Bihar government is set to verify suspected ration card beneficiaries across the state.

This move comes after clear instructions from the Central Government to clean up beneficiary data and improve transparency in the public distribution system.

The main focus of this exercise is to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries complete Aadhaar seeding through e-KYC.

e-KYC Mandatory or Ration Card Will Be Cancelled

As per the directive, ration card holders marked as “suspected” must complete their e-KYC during the special verification campaign.

If they fail to do so, their ration cards will be cancelled.

The Food and Consumer Protection Department has already received official instructions from the Central Government and has begun implementation.

Special Campaign to Run Across Bihar

Following central guidelines, all sub-divisional officers have been instructed to verify the eligibility of beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act.

A special campaign will be conducted at the divisional level to correct suspicious ration card data and ensure 100% Aadhaar linking.

Physical Verification Camps From December 17 to 30

To complete the process, physical verification camps will be organised across the state from December 17 to December 30.

During these camps, suspicious ration card data will be checked and resolved as per rules.

At the same time, e-KYC will be completed for all beneficiaries to ensure no eligible person is left out.
