Special Campaign to Enroll Employees in EPF

The Central Government will run a special campaign called “Employees’ Enrolment Campaign 2025” from November 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026.

The aim is to enroll lakhs of employees who worked between July 1, 2017, and October 31, 2025, but could not join the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) for some reason.

This initiative will help formalize the employment sector by increasing the coverage of social security.

One unique feature of this campaign is that employers can enroll employees who were not registered with the EPF before.

If the employee’s contribution was not deducted from their salary, the government will waive the employee’s share, while the employer will pay only their portion.

Additionally, employers need to pay a small penalty of just ₹100, making it easy and attractive to use on a large scale.

Benefits and Impact of the Campaign

A similar campaign in 2017 successfully enrolled employees who were excluded from EPF between 2009 and 2016, expanding social security coverage.

The new campaign is expected to benefit even more employees.

Employers enrolling employees under this initiative may also enjoy benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Vikas Bharat Rojgar Yojana.

This campaign will increase transparency in the employment sector, provide workers with the security of a provident fund, and give employers a significant incentive.

The online enrollment process is simple and fast, allowing more workers and employers to participate.

By officially including long-excluded workers, the initiative strengthens social security and promotes economic inclusion.

The government hopes this campaign will bring a new era in the labor sector, where every worker has access to social security benefits.
