Skoda Auto India has introduced an upgraded version of the Kushaq Onyx, now featuring an automatic transmission.
Originally launched in early 2023, the Onyx variant aimed to deliver satisfaction and value for money to Skoda enthusiasts.
Responding to consumer feedback, Skoda has now enhanced the Kushaq Onyx with several new features,
making it the most affordable automatic SUV in its segment.
Key Features and Pricing
According to Skoda Auto India Brand Director Petr Jeneba, the Onyx variant combines features from higher trims with the value of the Active trim.
This new version addresses the growing demand for affordable automatic cars. The ex-showroom price for the Kushaq Onyx AT is set at ₹13,49,000.
Exterior and Interior Upgrades
The Kushaq Onyx AT slots between the existing Active and Ambition variants. It includes features from the Ambition trim, such as Skoda Crystalline LED headlamps with DRLs, a rear wiper, and a defogger.
The SUV also retains the Tecton wheel covers and the “Onyx” badge on the B-pillars.
Inside, the cabin boasts several updates, including hill hold control, paddle shifters,
and a two-spoke multifunction leather steering wheel with chrome scrollers.
The cabin is also equipped with a touch panel featuring Skoda Climatronic, Onyx-themed cushions, and textile mats.
One of the most notable upgrades is the inclusion of six airbags as a standard feature.
Performance and Safety
Powering the Onyx AT is Skoda’s reliable 1.0 TSI turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, generating 115 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque.
This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The SUV underwent rigorous crash testing in October 2022 under the Global New Car Assessment Program (GNCAP) and scored highly in safety: 29.64 points out of 34 for adult passenger safety and 42 points out of 49 for child safety.
The Kushaq was the first Made-in-India car to receive five-star ratings for both adult and child occupant protection.
With these upgrades, the Skoda Kushaq Onyx AT not only enhances driving comfort but also prioritizes safety,
making it a compelling choice for consumers looking for an affordable, feature-rich automatic SUV.
