There is big relief for the millions of people who travel daily between Delhi and Meerut. The trouble of buying separate tickets for the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail and the Meerut Metro is going to end soon.
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has decided to introduce a single ticket system on the Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut RRTS corridor.
This means passengers will be able to use both services with just one ticket or the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC).
Earlier, passengers had to buy separate tickets for the Rapid Rail and the Meerut Metro. This caused extra time and inconvenience.
Under the new system, passengers can buy one ticket from any station between Meerut South and Modipuram and travel directly to Delhi or Ghaziabad.
This facility will be available at all 13 stations between Meerut South and Modipuram. It will give major relief to daily office workers, students, and other travelers.
Easy Interchange Without Leaving the Station
The biggest benefit of the new system is that passengers will not need to exit the station to change trains. They can easily switch between the Metro
and Namo Bharat by just changing platforms at stations like Modipuram, Begumpul, Shatabdi Nagar, and Meerut South.
This will make travel faster and more convenient. The facility will be especially helpful for passengers during peak hours.
Saves Time and Supports Smart Travel
With the single ticket system, passengers will no longer have to stand in separate queues at different counters. One ticket will cover the entire journey, saving both time and effort and making travel smoother and smarter.
Travel using the National Common Mobility Card will also encourage digital payments and smart transport systems. This step is considered important for strengthening public transport in the Delhi-NCR region.
