Severe cold is gripping much of North India, including Delhi, as the Meteorological Department (IMD) issues warnings of dense to very dense fog and a cold wave from December 18 to 22, 2025.

Morning visibility is expected to be very low in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand, which may affect road, rail, and air traffic.

Western Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand may experience a cold wave on December 18 and 19, while rain and snowfall are likely in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand during December 18–23.

Light rain may also occur in Punjab on December 20 and 21.

Weather Today in Delhi

Delhi will see light to moderate fog between December 17 and 20.

Maximum temperature: 22–25°C

Minimum temperature: 8–10°C

Reduced visibility may impact morning traffic, and air quality is expected to remain poor, with AQI above 400 in the coming days.

Winds are expected to weaken, which may worsen pollution, although strong winds over the past two days temporarily improved air quality.
