State Bank of India (SBI) and Bank of Baroda (BOB), two of the country’s biggest government banks, are offering special Fixed Deposit (FD) schemes for 444 days.
SBI’s scheme is called Amrit Vrishti, while BOB’s scheme is called Square Drive Deposit Scheme.
Both banks recently reduced interest rates on their 444-day FDs. Let’s find out which one offers better returns now.
BOB Square Drive Deposit Scheme – Interest Rates
Bank of Baroda launched the Square Drive Deposit Scheme a few months ago. Initially, it offered:
7.15% interest per year for regular customers,
7.65% for senior citizens, and
7.75% for super senior citizens.
Now, the rates have been revised:
6.60% for regular customers,
7.10% for senior citizens.
Note: Maximum investment allowed in this scheme is less than ₹3 crore.
SBI Amrit Vrishti FD – Interest Rates
SBI also lowered the interest on its special FD, Amrit Vrishti. This scheme also runs for 444 days. Earlier, it offered:
7.05% for regular customers,
7.55% for senior citizens,
7.65% for super senior citizens (above 80 years).
Now the interest rates are:
6.60% for regular customers,
7.10% for senior citizens (includes 0.50% extra benefit).
So, both banks now offer the same interest rates for 444 days: 6.60% for regular customers and 7.10% for senior citizens.

7–14 days: 3.50% (4.00% for seniors)
15–45 days: 3.50% (4.00% for seniors)
46–90 days: 5.00% (5.50% for seniors)
91–180 days: 5.00% (5.50% for seniors)
181–210 days: 5.50% (6.00% for seniors)
211–270 days: 5.75% (6.25% for seniors)
271 days–<1 year: 6.00% (6.50% for seniors)
1 year: 6.50% (7.00% for seniors)
>1 year–<400 days: 6.50% (7.00% for seniors)
>400 days–2 years: 6.50% (7.00% for seniors)
>2–3 years: 6.50% (7.00% for seniors)
>3–5 years: 6.40% (7.00% for seniors)
>5–10 years: 6.00% (7.00% for seniors)
Above 10 years (Court Order): 5.50% (6.00% for seniors)
444 days (special scheme): 6.60% (7.10% for seniors)
