Starting September 16, 2025, SBI Card will automatically move all existing Credit Card Protection Plan (CPP) users to new updated plans when their current policy renews.
Customers will get an SMS and email notification at least 24 hours before renewal, and no extra steps will be needed to join the new plan.
Updated CPP Benefits in Three New Plans
The new CPP is available in three versions—Classic, Premium, and Platinum. These updated plans include:
Single-call card blocking in case your card is lost or stolen
SIM card blocking service
Emergency travel help, with support up to ₹1.6 lakh (depending on the plan)
Fraud protection for PIN-based frauds, phishing, and unauthorized transactions, up to ₹1 lakh
Mobile wallet protection, covering up to ₹50,000 if your phone is lost
Some plans also cover not just the cardholder but also spouse and parents (Platinum plan), offering wider protection.
Lower Prices for Better Coverage
The updated plans are cheaper than the old ones:
Classic: ₹999 (was ₹1,199)
Premium: ₹1,499 (was ₹2,499)
Platinum: ₹1,999 (was ₹3,199)
This means customers now get more protection at lower costs.
Easier Registration Process
After paying the CPP fee, customers will get a welcome kit with a unique membership number. You can complete the registration in two ways:
Fill out the form in the kit and send it back
Call the CPP customer care
Customers can also register key documents like their driving licence and passport, which can be retrieved through SBI Card support if lost.
What is CPP?
CPP (Card Protection Plan) is India’s first full-service card protection product, offered by the UK-based CPP Group.
It helps protect users from financial losses due to card theft, fraud, or loss, while also offering travel and emergency support services.
What This Means for SBI Cardholders
By moving all customers to the new CPP plans automatically, SBI Card aims to boost security, reduce fraud, and make things more convenient.
With better features and lower prices, these new plans are expected to be more popular among users.
