Samsung is stepping up its game in digital payments.

The company has updated its Samsung Wallet app in India, adding several UPI-focused features that make it more convenient and secure for users.

With the latest upgrade, Samsung smartphone owners can now make UPI payments using biometric authentication, completely removing the need for a PIN.

This means you can simply use your fingerprint or facial recognition to approve payments — making transactions both faster and safer.

UPI Setup Made Easy on Samsung Devices

Until now, users had to rely on third-party apps to set up UPI.

But Samsung has changed that. With the new update, users can create and manage their UPI accounts directly from their Samsung Wallet app.

This makes it a one-stop solution for all kinds of digital payments.

Samsung is also the first smartphone brand in India to offer this level of UPI integration.

That means you can perform all onboarding steps, from linking your bank account to verifying your details, right from your phone.

Beyond UPI, the app supports credit and debit card payments, so you can pay at stores and online merchants using saved cards.

There’s also a Tap and Pay option for Forex cards, allowing travelers to make payments abroad with ease.

Samsung hopes to expand these features to all Galaxy devices, not just premium ones.

Zoho Enters the UPI Space with Zoho Pay

While Samsung enhances its Wallet, Indian tech giant Zoho is preparing to launch its own UPI-based payment app called Zoho Pay.

The app is currently being tested internally and is expected to launch soon.

Zoho Pay will be integrated with the company’s Arattai messaging app, similar to how WhatsApp Pay works.

Users will be able to send and receive money, pay bills, and recharge mobiles — all without leaving the app.

With both Samsung and Zoho strengthening their presence in the digital payment ecosystem, the competition for India’s next big super app is heating up.
