If you are using a Samsung smartphone, this news will be good for you. Samsung introduced its Galaxy AI features with the Galaxy S24 series in 2024. These AI-powered tools were later made available on older flagship Galaxy smartphones as well.
Earlier, Samsung had said that Galaxy AI would be free only until 2025 and might become a paid service after that. This created confusion among users.
Now, Samsung has officially clarified that Galaxy AI will continue to be available without any subscription for flagship smartphone users.
Samsung Clarifies Its Galaxy AI Policy
According to a report by Gadgets360, Samsung has quietly updated a footnote on its website. The updated note confirms that basic Galaxy AI features will remain free for users. Samsung stated:
“Basic Galaxy AI features provided by Samsung are free. Future releases may include enhanced features or new services that will be offered on a paid basis. Separate terms may apply for AI features provided by third parties.”
This statement is different from Samsung’s earlier announcement, which said AI features would be complimentary only until 2025.
The earlier message mentioned that users might need to pay after the free period, depending on availability, country, and app support.
The new update clears the rumors that Galaxy AI would be limited to paid users. However, Samsung has not yet confirmed which existing features may be included in any future paid plans.
List of Basic Galaxy AI Features
Samsung defines “basic Galaxy AI features” as those listed under the Advanced Intelligence section of its Services Terms and Conditions. These include:
Call Assist
Writing Assist
Photo Assist
Interpreter
Note Assist
Transcript Assist
Browsing Assist
Photo Ambient

Bixby

Some of these features currently require users to sign in with a Samsung account.
Availability of Galaxy AI Features
Samsung first introduced Galaxy AI features, such as real-time translation and AI-based image editing, with the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024.
At present, these features are available on Galaxy S series smartphones, foldable devices, Fan Edition models, and several other Samsung phones.
