Samsung Adds Google Gemini to Watches and Earbuds

There’s good news for Samsung smartwatch and earbud users. On Wednesday, Samsung announced that Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, Gemini, will be added to its wearable devices.

Soon, users of the Samsung Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds 3 series will be able to use the AI assistant to set reminders, summarize messages, get weather updates,

and do other tasks that were earlier possible only on the phone. With this move, Samsung plans to bring AI features to all devices in its Galaxy range.

Gemini Coming to Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds

In its official press note, Samsung said this is the first time Gemini is being added to Galaxy wearables.

It will also be included in the Galaxy Buds 3 series — Samsung’s top true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds — and the setup process will be “even simpler.”

You Can Do Many Tasks Just by Speaking

With Gemini on the Galaxy Watch, users can use voice commands to get things done without using their hands.

For instance, you can say, “Remember I’m using Locker 43 today,” and the AI will set a reminder.

You can also ask it to summarize emails for a quick update. According to Samsung, Gemini works across different apps to respond and take action.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Buds 3 series will give users an even smoother experience with Gemini.

By using voice commands or a simple pinch-and-hold gesture, users can activate the AI assistant to check the weather and more — all without touching their phone.

Gemini Expanding to More Devices

It’s worth noting that Google is planning to bring Gemini to many other devices.

This announcement was made during the Android Show: I/O Edition, which is part of the lead-up to Google I/O 2025, starting next week.

Google says Gemini will also be available on smartwatches using Wear OS, smart TVs running Android TV OS, and car infotainment systems with Android Auto.

Headsets and smart glasses using the Android XR operating system will also benefit from Gemini’s AI features.

Although the exact launch date hasn’t been revealed yet, Google has confirmed that Gemini features will eventually be available to all users.
