Russian Plane An-24: A Russian passenger plane that went missing earlier today has been found crashed near the China border.
The An-24 aircraft, which was carrying 49 people, including five children, four crew members, and two airline staff, was on its way to Tynda in the Amur region of eastern Russia.
The wreckage was discovered on a mountain slope near Kuvikta village, about 15 km from Tynda, close to the Chinese border.
Plane Lost Contact Before Landing
The plane reportedly lost contact with Air Traffic Control (ATC) while approaching its destination.
The flight was operated by Angara Airlines, based in Siberia. Authorities began a search soon after communication was lost, and later, the first images of the wreckage were released.
Eyewitnesses Saw Plane Flying Abnormally
Eyewitnesses reported that the aircraft was flying unusually low and circling just before the crash.
Videos taken before the crash show the plane behaving abnormally while preparing to land.
No Survivors, Say Initial Reports
Although there has been no official confirmation, initial reports suggest there were no survivors in the crash.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Emergency teams and aviation authorities are on-site and continuing their work.
