Gujarat residents applying for new domestic piped natural gas (PNG) connections by June 30, 2026, will get a Rs 500 discount.
The amount will be credited to the consumer’s bill after the connection is installed.
The discount is available in areas with existing gas pipelines and aims to encourage more households to switch to PNG for a regular and convenient gas supply.
GSPC Managing Director Avantika Singh Aulakh made the announcement during a review meeting in Surat, where officials discussed the supply of petrol, diesel, gas, fertiliser, and other essential commodities.
Supply and Infrastructure Updates
Currently, Surat city has 15.20 lakh domestic PNG connections.
The government is working with oil and gas companies to ensure uninterrupted supply to consumers.
Aulakh confirmed that there is sufficient stock of essential commodities across the state, and measures are in place to maintain smooth distribution.
Considering international tensions, officials are closely monitoring supplies to avoid any disruptions.
Special focus is being given to residential users, educational institutions, hospitals, community kitchens, and hostels.
So far, Surat district has approved 1,805 commercial PNG applications, including 39 hospitals and 16 railway canteens.
Gas supply is also being arranged for industrial units and their canteens.
Additionally, the process for PNG pipeline connections has been simplified, reducing installation time from 45 days to just 7 days.
HPCL, BPCL, and IOCL dealers have already started supplying 3 kg and 5 kg gas cylinders.
