Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly selected candidates in various government departments and organizations during the 15th edition of the Rozgar Mela.
The event will be held on Saturday through video conferencing. As per the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the employment fair will take place at 47 locations across the country.
This initiative reflects the government’s focus on generating employment.
This step is seen as a major move to reduce unemployment and empower the youth.
It not only provides better career options for young people but also helps strengthen the country’s administrative system.
Over 10 Lakh Government Jobs Provided
The newly selected candidates are from different regions of the country and will be joining central government departments such as the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Personnel and Public Grievances and Pensions, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Railways, and Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Since the launch of Rozgar Mela in October 2022, the central government has provided over 10 lakh permanent government jobs. In the first edition, 75,000 appointment letters were issued.
14th Rozgar Mela in December 2024
In the 14th Rozgar Mela held in December 2024, PM Modi had mentioned that 71,000 job offers were given.
He also said that these job fairs are a part of the government’s long-term plan to ensure transparent and fair employment opportunities.
Employment Agreements With 21 Countries
During the last Rozgar Mela, PM Modi also shared that India has signed migration and employment agreements with 21 countries in recent years.
These include Japan, Australia, France, Germany, Israel, Mauritius, the United Kingdom, Italy, and several Gulf countries.
He noted that in the past 18 months, 10 lakh youth have received government jobs.
PM Modi said today’s youth are confident and energetic, and they are making a mark in every field.
