Retired Officers can Serve till 65 Years in Haryana

In Haryana, retired officers and employees can now be reappointed till the age of 63 years. The Chief Secretary has issued orders regarding this.

However, reappointment will be allowed only for two years. After this, any appointment will be made only on a contract basis.

This means that employees reappointed at the age of 63 will be able to continue service till 65 years of age.

The Chief Secretary has also sent guidelines on this matter to all administrative secretaries, department heads, and district deputy commissioners.

Rules and Conditions for Reappointment

According to the order, officers and employees can be given reappointment only in special cases for a maximum of two years after retirement. While doing so, some conditions must be followed:

Reappointment should not affect the promotion of junior or other officers.

Extension of service is allowed only if no eligible candidate is available for the promotion post for at least two years.
