If you’ve invested your hard-earned money in a company or scheme and they’re now refusing to return it, don’t panic.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a platform called the Sachet Portal — a one-stop website where you can file complaints against fraudulent investment schemes, chit funds, or unauthorized finance companies.
You can visit the official website sachet.rbi.org.in
and report any company that has cheated you by promising fake or unrealistic returns.
What Is the Sachet Portal and How Does It Work?
The Sachet Portal was launched by the RBI to protect investors from scams and help them get justice.
When you file a complaint here, it’s automatically sent to the correct regulator — like SEBI, IRDAI, the state government, or the police department — depending on the nature of the case.
To file a complaint, you’ll need details such as:
The name of the company or scheme
How much you invested
Contact or registration details of the company
Once you submit your complaint, you’ll get a reference number to track the status online.
But the portal isn’t just for complaints.
It also spreads financial awareness — giving you access to:
Lists of registered companies
Details of ongoing legal actions
Alerts about fake or risky investment schemes
This makes it an important tool to stay informed and safe from scams.
Step-by-Step: How to File a Complaint on the Sachet Portal
Visit sachet.rbi.org.in
Click on “File a Complaint” on the homepage
Select the correct regulator (if you know it) — RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, etc.
If unsure, click “Can’t Find Regulator” — the SLCC team will forward it to the right place
Fill in the details and submit your complaint
Once done, you’ll receive updates via SMS or email, including which department is handling your case.
If your complaint isn’t forwarded within 30 days, you’ll see a “Reminder” button on the website — click it to alert the team.
What Else Can You Do on the Sachet Website?
Track your complaint: Click “Track your complaint” and enter your mobile number, email, or complaint number.
Help the regulator: If you’ve spotted a suspicious company or illegal fund scheme, you can share details and upload documents under “Help Your Regulator.”
The RBI’s Sachet Portal is a strong step toward transparent and safe investing — giving you the power to act against fraud from the comfort of your home.
