If there is an elderly or disabled person in your family, managing banking work can often be stressful.

Standing in long queues, traveling to branches, and repeated visits can be physically exhausting.

To solve this problem, the RBI has directed major public sector banks to provide doorstep banking services for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

With this facility, important banking work can now be done from home using a simple mobile app.

Why Doorstep Banking Is a Big Relief

This service is specially designed for people who find it difficult to visit bank branches.

Senior citizens above 70 years of age and people with disabilities can use this facility for essential banking tasks.

There is no need to visit the bank for submitting life certificates, completing KYC, or handling pension-related work.

The service is available through the Doorstep Banking (DSB) app, making banking easier and stress-free.

How Doorstep Banking Works

To use this service, customers need to download a dedicated mobile app called PSB Alliance Doorstep Banking (DSB).

The app allows users to request a bank visit at home.

After installing the app, registration must be done using the mobile number linked to the bank account.

Once registered, users can choose the required service and schedule a visit.

Banks Offering Doorstep Banking Service

Currently, this facility is available in 12 public sector banks.

These include State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, and Punjab & Sind Bank.

If you have an account in any of these banks, you can use doorstep banking services.

Step-by-Step Process to Book a Home Visit

First, download the PSB Alliance Doorstep Banking app from the Google Play Store.

You can also request the service by calling the toll-free number 1800 1030.

Register using the mobile number linked to your bank account.

Select the banking service you need, such as cash withdrawal, life certificate submission, or KYC update.

Choose a convenient date and time.

A bank representative will visit your home to complete the requested work.

Charges and Important Safety Tips

The service is available at a nominal cost.

A single visit costs around ₹75 plus applicable taxes.

Considering the convenience it offers, this fee is quite reasonable.

Always remember, a bank agent will never ask for your ATM PIN, OTP, or passwords.

Never share personal banking details with anyone.

This RBI-backed doorstep banking facility ensures that elderly and disabled individuals can manage their finances safely and comfortably without stepping out of their homes.
