The weather has changed as Diwali approaches. November is almost here, but it still feels warm during the day.
Although it gets cooler at night, the bright sun remains.
However, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that the festival of Diwali might be affected because rain is expected in several states.
Rain Alerts Across Several States
In Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha, the weather is expected to be clear. But heavy rain is likely in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh.
An upper-air cyclone has formed over many coastal regions of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, prompting the IMD to issue a warning.
States Expected to Experience Rain
From October 31 to November 1, light to moderate rains with thunderstorms and lightning are predicted in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, coastal Lakshadweep,
and southern Karnataka. Recently, Parvatipuram in Andhra Pradesh recorded 12 mm of rainfall.
Other areas in Andhra Pradesh also saw rain, with 7 mm in Jiyamma Valasa, 4 mm in Komrada, and 4 mm in Sitanagaram.
In Odisha, Nischintkoili received 8 mm, and Bissam-Cuttack saw 5 mm of rainfall.
Upcoming Weather Forecast
Over the next seven days, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal may experience sporadic rainfall from October 31 to November 3.
Coastal areas of Karnataka can expect scattered rainfall on October 28 and 29. Heavy rain, thunderstorms,
and lightning are possible in the interior parts of Karnataka from October 29 to November 2. Additionally, light rain may occur in Kerala, Mahi,
and Lakshadweep from October 28 to November 3, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected from November 1 to 3.
Rain in Northern States
In the northern states, light to moderate rain is expected in West Bengal and Sikkim on October 30 and 31.
Odisha may see light rain on October 28 and 29. Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Ladakh, are also likely to receive light to moderate rain on October 29.
