Although IRCTC will continue to manage bookings for reserved tickets, RailOne is officially authorised by IRCTC and is recognised alongside other approved commercial platforms.

PRS Upgrade and Digital Modernisation

Minister Vaishnaw also appreciated CRIS for its efforts in upgrading the Passenger Reservation System (PRS).

The new system will be fast, multilingual, and scalable. It will be capable of handling 1.5 lakh ticket bookings and 40 lakh enquiries every minute. The upgraded PRS will also offer new features like:

Several changes have been introduced along with the RailOne app launch:

Aadhaar-verified IRCTC IDs are now mandatory for Tatkal and emergency ticket bookings to reduce agent misuse.

The first reservation chart will now be released 8 hours before train departure, instead of the earlier 4 hours.

Fare Hike Details:

Non-AC Mail/Express: Increased by ₹0.01 per km

AC Classes: Increased by ₹0.02 per km
